Lebendige Kunst

My work is dedicated to the topic "Old Age Is Beautiful" . In my work I am highlighting issues connected with ageing such as loneliness, modern medicine and its dark sides, neglect, exploitation in hospitals and care homes, pension related poverty, the wish to die as well as all psychological and physical diseases such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, depression, arthritis, diabetes, incontinence, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic pain and chronic sores. Each painting of the "Old Age Is Beautiful" series is created through strictly analytical observation and based on my work experience in nursing. The knowledge I have gained during my nursing training in geriatric psychology combined with my knowledge gained by studying art enables me to present this topic to the public. This is an issue of growing importance and unfortunately so far I appear to be the only artist dedicating his work to this intellectually and morally difficult topic.
